Over 100 children took part in the contest for young talents, founded by the Sofia-based actress Iliana Balijska, which turned into a colorful party in Mall Varna last night, on August 29. Children from Varna and the region, aged from 3 to 12, were involved in the naughty show and tried to outperform each other for the Mini Miss and Mini Mister Varna title.





This is the only licensed competition for charm and  fashion-show, artisitic and musical talents, and it is the semi-finals of the 12th Sea Child Festival. The hostess of the show, the long-standing talant-hunter Iliana Balijska personally chose 30 kids, who will represent Varna at the finals of the National Television Competition Mini Miss and Mini Mister Autumn in the National Palace of Children in Sofia. According to the hostess, one of the criteria for success was that "It should show that your place is on stage and not in the audience”.



In front of the numerous audience on the third floor of Mall Varna over a period of several hours the children, divided into 4 groups by age and gender, sang Bulgarian and foreign songs, recited with enthusiasm poems by famous Bulgarian authors, as well as their own poems and showed remarkable capabilities in rhythmic gymnastics and ballroom dancing. One of the tours in the contest was entitled Dance-Manz, accompanied by songs of the Naughty show from the Mini Miss and Mini Mister album and the Hotties of the Zodiac album – dedications for the kids born under the summer Zodiac signs: Cancer, Leo and Virgo.





Gifts were provided for all participants in the naughty show, and the winners got numerous special awards provided by the competition organizors and Mall Varna: Hippoland - shop for children’s smiles, Jou Jou shop, children's center Capella Play, MADO coffee shop.

The hottest competition was among the girls aged from 3 to 6 in which more than 40 young talants competed for the title of Mini Miss Varna. Finally the title was deservedly awarded to 5-year-old Miraia Doncheva from Varna. The Mini Mister Varna award in the same age group went to 4-year-old Joan Bankov from Valchi Dol. 6-year-old Georgi Petrov who suffers from polio endeared the audience and won its sincere applause with his performance of the song "The Fight Arose”. He won the third place and will also participate at the finals of the competition in Sofia.



It was not easier to choose Mini Miss Varna in the other age group of 7 to 12 year-olds in which 25 young ladies made worthy performances. With the help of the audience the winner was chosen in the face of the 7-year-old unique ballroom dancer Victoria Spassova from Varna. Among the young men the title was awarded to the charming 8-year-old Stephen Kemanadzhiev from Varna, who mоved the audience with his performance of a love ballad.





The competition for young talents involved also children from orphanages in the Varna region deprived of parental care, who made a worthy performance and earned themselves many gifts, as well as the fondness and applause of the audience and organizers.

According to Iliana Balijska last night, on August 29 in Mall Varna, some of Bulgaria’s future talents were discovered. Ten years ago when the contest was last held here in Varna, it was won by the 10-year-old Christiana who made a hula hoop act and who later participated in many talent contests.
