A 7-year-old Filipina grabbed the Little Miss Varna 2019 award

The last Sunday of August was the day when dozens of talented children gathered together in Varna Mall in order to take part in the 10th anniversary of the “Little Miss and Little Mister” talent contest. During the event, as tradition says, the actress Iliana Baliyska gave the floor for stage performance to little young girls and boys aged between 3 and 12. The young talents entertained the regional contest visitors for hours with songs, poems, dancing, rhythmic gymnastics combinations and even drawings.

All participants in the “mischievous show” received awards, which, however, did not make the battle for the first award any less challenging. In the first age group – for children aged between 3 and 6, the audience applause and the Little Miss award were won by the resonant voice of 5-year-old Maria Simonova. The Little Mister award was won by Kristo Penev, also aged 5, who charmed the guests with his artistic recitation.

In the group of older children – aged between 7 and 12, the show team and the audience picked 7-year-old Paulina Lansangan for the Little Miss prize winner with their applause. The young and charming girl, who was born in the Philippines but lives in Varna, made a virtuoso performance of a wonderful Bulgarian folk song.

The Little Mister award was unanimously granted to 11-year-old bagpiper Valeri Ivanov.

In line with tradition, Little Miss “Foreigner” awards were also granted. This year, the awards in the two age groups were given to the sisters Raya (age 5) and Simona (age 12) Bukovi, who were born and live in England.

The actress Iliana Baliyska organised a contest for the relatives of the young talents again – parents and grandmothers had the chance to enjoy the competition for the “Golden Mum”, “Golden Dad” and “Golden Grandma” awards.

The all-time children’s favourite – the green hippopotamus named Hippo – also attended the show as a special guest and brought joy to all children with his presents! Of course, the greatest prizes were given to the winners. The most artistic little lady and little gentleman aged up to 6 received a large teddy bear from “Hippoland” and the winners in the “7+” age category won two illuminated globes with a map of the world and the constellations from Orange Center. Fitness Energy CLUB granted vouchers for a free class in Boxing or Zumba for kids to all finalists.

The contest in Varna was part of the national tour of the show for talented children and the winners will also perform on the stage of the 21st “Little Miss and Little Mister - Little Big Talents” TV Show, which will take place in Sofia this autumn.
