Crew with a Balkan Rally Trophy: Second-Time Champion among the Car Racers in Varna

For the second year in a row, driver Yordan Atanasov and co-driver Yanaki Yanakiev were declared Champions among the car racers of Varna. The crew of the ART Racing sporting club, who became champion in 2019 once again in the ERT 2 Class of the Balkan Rally Trophy, received the Winners’ Cups from Kristiyan Dimitrov, Head of the Sports Department at the Municipality of Varna.

As tradition holds, the award ceremony at Varna Mall for the 16th Annual Car Racing Awards – Varna 2019 brought together tens of steering-wheel and high-speed masters, as well as laureates of the Retro Rally Championship, sports journalists, and car-racing fans. The top performers from the previous year were honored with cups and diplomas from Neptun Motorsport, Auto Moto Retro Club – Varna, the Union of Bulgarian Automobilists, and the Municipality of Varna.

Orlin Penev, the event organizer, paid special attention to the winners in the National Retro Rally Championship, Stefan Drumev and Lilyana Maksimova, who won the title with their debut participation.

There were awards also for the Varna Electric Car Club, who organized the first Eco Rally in Varna, as well as the Trabant National Club, who presented the most attractive car show in 2019, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary from the Berlin Wall’s fall. Therein, 80 East German cars participated, each with the distinctive brand, one of which cut into the “wall”, in practice, and managed to break it.
